My story

I was diagnosed with stage 3B Lobular Carcinoma with lymph node involvement on April 1, 2008. A swollen lymph node under my arm was my only symptom. Nothing was shown on my mamogram the day I was diagnosed. An ultrasound showed a 8cm long mass. I endured grueling rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries. By the love of my family and friends and my faith in God, I made it through with a new appreciation of life!

Progress

Today, I almost reached my goal with my left arm! My right arm is another story though; the muscle in my back, chest and arm is really tight. Heat helps me complete my daily stretching. You would think I did 100 push ups by the way I feel afterwards. My boys are my cheerleaders, giving me high fives, urging me on, watching my progress. Laughing at me as I barely lift that right arm. Their humor is encouragement enough, making me laugh too! Someday, I will look back at this silly exercise with disbelief that I was so impaired. Bill has been such a blessing wearing the many hats of a taxi driver, maid and therapist, as well as an awesome husband and dad. The joy my family brings to me is the medicine I need for sure! Proverbs 17:22 tells us that "A cheerful heart is good medicine, a downcast spirit dries up the bones." My body hurts, but my bones are sure not dry! Stitches come out Wednesday (3 1/2 weeks), YEAH!
