My story

I was diagnosed with stage 3B Lobular Carcinoma with lymph node involvement on April 1, 2008. A swollen lymph node under my arm was my only symptom. Nothing was shown on my mamogram the day I was diagnosed. An ultrasound showed a 8cm long mass. I endured grueling rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries. By the love of my family and friends and my faith in God, I made it through with a new appreciation of life!

Problems?

The appointment with my surgical oncologist two weeks ago led to a concerning urgent ultrasound. Dr. Hills is an awesome surgeon who has ridden me of cancer; I trust her tremendously. So, I was immediately put into overdrive at my last routine 3 month appointment with her. She noticed a 'tethering' of the skin where my original tumor was. Because of the appearance and feel, she was very concerned this was a recurrence. Things like this always happen on a Friday! So, I spent the weekend convinced that I was doomed. Monday morning arrived and the ultrasound results showed no tumor or evidence of cancer! The amount of prayers that were sent up were amazing. As soon as I found out of the problem, my requests for prayers were sent out, delivered and fulfilled. I know prayers aren't always answered, but the support I received made me realize that God is running this show from every corner of my life!
